Our philosophy at River Bend Home & Garden is one of “Ideas, Information & Inspiration.” We have an experienced and knowledgeable staff of gardeners and landscape designers who will individually work with you to plan and execute your project from start to finish. After all, you aren’t simply a customer, you are a fellow gardener! We encourage you to bring a photo of your project and we will help you choose plant material, design water features, and offer solutions to any problems you may encounter along the way. Site visits by our professional landscape designers can be arranged for more comprehensive consultations.

We carry a wide variety of exceptional perennials, annuals, trees and shrubs, including all the materials to successfully plan and install a garden. From compost to topsoil, mulch to garden tools, seeds to fertilizers, we’ve got everything you need to get started on your home improvement projects. Some of our high quality plant brands include Sunny Border, Pride’s Corner, White Flower Farm and Proven Winners.

All our perennials, shrubs and trees are hardy for northern temperatures, and many are grown locally right here in Vermont. If we don’t have a plant currently in stock we can special order. From the professional landscape contractor to the weekend gardener, we provide all the materials needed to get the job done right!

Organic Gardening

River Bend is committed to organic gardening practices, such as using organic seeds and fertilizers and planting native species. We carry many organic alternatives to pest control. Organic gardening focuses on the whole ecosystem of your yard, making sure your soil, water, plants and wildlife work together to create a healthy and sustainable landscape. Best of all, when you plant native species, your garden will be very low-maintenance!

As a locally owned and operated business, we feel it is very important to protect the long term sustainability of our environment and community. Growing your own produce is a fantastic way to not only eat healthier, but is also good for the environment. Think of how much gas you’ll save in the summer if all you need to do for a tasty meal is to walk outside your own front door!

Outdoor Living

Living in Vermont gives the advantage of a temperate climate, perfect for creating an outdoor living space to enjoy through spring, summer, fall and winter. River Bend carries a great selection of outdoor furniture and garden accents such as Adirondack chairs, fire pits, wrought iron gates, willow and cedar trellises, hanging baskets and more. We also carry lots of different bird feeders and houses, as well as birdbaths to attract wildlife to your home. Water features and ponds are a great way to enjoy the soothing sounds of nature, and we have many different styles of fountains and pond pumps, as well as the know-how for set up and maintenance.
