Landscape & Gardening Services

Maintenance

Our Maintenance service includes regular weeding, pruning, trimming of shrubs and perennials, and thoughtful soil amendments to build health and fertility naturally. We focus on regenerative practices that support soil life, reduce inputs, and encourage biodiversity—ensuring your gardens, orchards, or plantings stay vibrant and resilient throughout the seasons in Vermont's variable climate.

Spring & Fall Cleanup

Our seasonal cleanups refresh and protect your landscape at the key turning points of the year. In the spring, we remove winter debris, prune damaged growth, prepare beds, and apply organic mulch to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and nourish soil as growth begins. In the fall, we “close everything down” by clearing leaves and debris, cutting back perennials, and prepping plants for Vermont’s winter—reducing pest/disease risks and building long-term resilience.

Foundation Plantings

Carefully designed garden beds lining the foundation of your home help to absorb roof runoff, hide unsightly footings or external mechanical spaces, all while adding beauty and depth.

Hardscape

We craft functional and beautiful hardscape elements that integrate seamlessly with your landscape, using natural, permeable materials suited to Vermont’s climate and soils. Our focus includes thoughtfully designed paths of stone, gravel, or pavers; peastone patios for relaxed outdoor living; stepping stones through gardens; and simple edging or borders that define spaces without overwhelming them.

Accent Ponds

Take your landscape diversity one step further by adding an accent pond. Accent ponds serve as habitat for water loving plants like reeds and lily-pads, as well as creatures such as frogs and salamanders. Allowing a place for fresh water to collect and circulate provides reliable drinking access for birds, insects, and small mammals. With a small solar pump, add a soothing waterfall or stream to your accent pond.

Formal Gardens

Bring timeless elegance to your property with custom formal gardens featuring symmetrical layouts, geometric beds, trimmed hedges, and precise plantings. We blend classic structure with sustainable practices—incorporating native and pollinator-friendly species where possible—to create low-maintenance, enduring beauty. Whether a traditional parterre or a modern interpretation, we collaborate closely to design a refined outdoor space that enhances your home's aesthetic while supporting local ecology.

Potager Gardens

Potager is a French term used to describe a “kitchen garden”. Imagine walking out your door to find fresh herbs and vegetables ready to add to your dinner. This can take the form of wooden raised beds, or in-ground plantings and is designed specifically to be easy to access from your kitchen. Fill this space with the veggies and herbs you gravitate towards most in your daily habits. If you are ready to grow food on a slightly larger scale, we can help you establish a no-dig vegetable garden with necessary fencing, irrigation, and other desired infrastructure.

Pollinator Gardens

While most all the species we plant attract pollinators in some way or another, there are certain varieties that our native pollinators (like butterflies and bees) prefer. A garden designed specifically to support pollinators focuses on supplying a consistent food source during as much of the year as possible. While being beautiful, pollinator gardens can also help support other aspects of your landscape, such as a veggie garden, or orchard, by bringing in beneficial insects.

Fruit Orchards

Whether you are looking to reclaim an existing overgrown orchard, or begin anew, we can help. While apples may be the first fruit that comes to mind when picturing what you can be grown here in Vermont, the options may actually surprise you! Vermont orchards can also include pears, peaches, cherries, plums, apricots and more!

Food Forest Guilds

In this context, a guild is a small community of plants that help to support one another. The general layout of a guild includes a tall canopy tree (such as a nut tree), smaller fruiting trees (such as dwarf apples or seaberries), shrubs (such as currants), ground cover (clover, wild flowers, comfrey etc.), and vines (like wild grape). In this way, a guild aims to mimic the communities of plants we commonly find in nature. A guild can be a stand-alone planting in a small space, or serve as a building block upon which a larger area can be designed.

Vulnerable Area Restoration

Riverbank and Vulnerable Area Restoration: Vermont has seen repeated historic flood events happening at increasingly frequent intervals. This trend is likely to continue. Thus, it is more important than ever to foster resilient ecosystems that can better withstand such extreme weather. Deliberately building buffer plantings between agricultural spaces and waterways, or between your home and a wetland, or along the bank of even the smallest stream, can dramatically improve the structural and ecological integrity of everywhere downstream. In such plantings we focus on native species with deep and sprawling root systems that don’t mind getting their “feet wet”.

Planters and Windowboxes

Fill your space with vibrant blooms early spring to late fall with annual planters and windowboxes. Whether you already have existing windowboxes and outdoor pots, or you are starting from scratch, we can design and plant something to fit your space!
